Hoists are used in conjunction with monorail and crane systems as they provide the extra dimensions of lifting and positioning needed to move a product. There are several different types of hoists available in the industry.
Manual Hoists – Manual Chain hoists are used for applications requiring lighter duty and infrequently cycled systems. The worker pulls on a chain to either lift or lower the load. This type of hoists is an effective choice for lifting loads up to 4000#.
Electric Hoists – Electric Hoists are available with a Chain or Cable (Wire Rope) and are the most widely used type of hoist. They are offered in a wide variety of capacities, lifting speeds and lift heights and allow more flexibility than a manual chain hoist and also have higher duty cycles.
Air Hoists – Air Hoists are a special breed as they are generally utilized for high frequency use and difficult applications. Some of their advantages are they are faster, more controllable and are
ideal for use in special environments where an electric hoist would be dangerous or prohibited., such as explosion proof environments.
